Changelog

What's new

Everything that changed, newest first.

October 24, 2026

Stoaform is now KiteQuad.

  • Improved A new name: KiteQuad. You hold the string: a kite flies where you let it, and the quad is the campus it flies over. Same app and the same promise: one data agreement covers every app you make. New colors, a new kite logo and a new heading font come with it.
  • Improved New web addresses. When they're switched on, you'll use kitequad.com, your students' spaces will be at kitequad.school (for example kitequad.school/your-handle/your-app), and apps will run on kitequadusercontent.com.
  • Improved Apps save progress through kitequad. The helper built into every app is now window.kitequad (for example kitequad.store.set("score", 10)). The fix-it prompts in a check report already use the new name.

Launch

The first version.

  • New Sign in your way. With an emailed link, a password, or Google where it's switched on.
  • New Publish from GitHub, where it's switched on (look for the GitHub card in Settings). Link an app to a repository, branch and folder on your own GitHub account, and each push is checked like an upload. It goes live by itself when nothing new needs your OK; otherwise it waits for you, and you get an email. Each commit on GitHub shows the result. How it works.
  • Improved Your app's pages stay locked down, scripts and all. When you publish, each script written inside a page is moved into a file of its own in your app, so the page can run under a stricter safety rule. Most apps work exactly as before, and the check report says how many scripts were moved. Code that adds a script and uses it straight away, as jQuery's $.getScript does, keeps working, and so do three.js apps with add-ons. If something may work a little differently (a short timer that expects a later script to be there already, say), the report says so and gives you a prompt for your AI tool. A page whose scripts can't be moved for certain keeps the older rule and works as it did, and the report says why. More about this.
  • New See what your students did. Each published app has a Results tab — a table of the students in a class by what they saved, readable as text — a Leaderboard for apps that keep scores, and Download CSV for your gradebook. Pick the class at the top. How it works.
  • New You decide what's kept. What this app stores lists what an app has saved for a class — the kinds of data and how long it's kept, never the values themselves. Delete one student's data (even a student who moved to another class), a whole class's, or everything an app stored, from the same place.
  • New When an app misbehaves. A student can report an app from inside it, and if an app tries to open another page we close it and tell the student to see you. Both show on the app's Reports tab, and we email you — a count and a link, never anything about a student.
  • New Delete your account whenever you want. In Settings, type your handle to delete your account: your classes, students, apps and their data are taken down from students at once and deleted for good within 7 days (our backups keep a copy about 30 days more, then it's gone from them too). There's no undo, and we email you when it's done.
  • New SDK docs and a ready-made prompt. The SDK docs show how your app saves student progress with kitequad.store, and there's a copy-paste KiteQuad-ready prompt to hand your AI tool so what it builds works here the first time. A one-line mock lets you try it on your own computer before publishing.
  • New A trust center for your school. One place — /trust — with the privacy policy and its retention schedule, a COPPA school notice, the security overview, the subprocessor list, an accessibility statement, and a downloadable set of vendor-risk answers for your district's review.
  • New Free for teachers during the beta. Every teacher gets all of Teacher Pro's limits at no cost while we're in beta, and Settings shows your plan under Plan and billing. There's nothing to pay and no checkout yet; we'll email you well before that changes, and when it does nothing you've made is deleted. More about plans.
  • New An IT kit. /it lists the two hostnames to allow for students and the one for teachers, plus the camera note for badge sign-in — everything your network admin needs, and nothing more.
