Draft — not yet in effect
Draft — under review. This page describes how KiteQuad is built today and is being reviewed by counsel. It isn't a binding policy yet, and the wording may change before launch.
Who may use KiteQuad
KiteQuad is for teachers and schools. When you create an account you confirm you are an educator and at least 18 years old. Students don't create KiteQuad accounts; a teacher adds them to a class and they sign in to that class. These terms are an agreement between you and KiteQuad.
Your account
You're responsible for what you put into your account, for the apps you publish, and for keeping your sign-in to yourself. Tell us at support@kitequad.com if you think someone else has your sign-in.
Student data and the school's agreement
KiteQuad starts every class in anonymous mode, which is built to hold no real student names or email. Collecting real student data needs a school to authorize it under a data agreement — see the COPPA school notice and the trust center. You agree to use KiteQuad only for your teaching, and only to collect from students what your school has approved.
The apps you publish
You build your apps elsewhere and publish them here. You keep ownership of your apps; you give KiteQuad permission to host, check and serve them to your students. You agree not to publish an app that breaks the law, that you don't have the rights to, or that is built to get around KiteQuad's student-safety protections. Every app is checked before it goes live, and KiteQuad may take an app down if it puts students at risk.
Plans and payment
During the beta, every feature is free. When paid plans begin, the plan you're on and its limits are shown in Settings, and any payment is a teacher's own — handled by Stripe, never involving student data. You can cancel from Settings; your data and the versions you've published are kept, and if you drop below a paid plan's limits — or have more apps live than the Free plan allows when the beta ends — you get time to choose which apps stay live. We'll say what changes before it changes.
Availability
We work to keep KiteQuad running and publish its live status at /status, but we can't promise it will never be interrupted. KiteQuad is provided as-is, to the extent the law allows.
Ending your use
You can delete your account at any time in Settings; see the help page for what happens and when your data is gone. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms or endangers students.
Changes
If these terms change in a way that matters, we'll say so on this page and in the changelog before it takes effect.
